How appropriate that on St George’s Day BritWeek held its opening party, and how appropriate that on William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, the theme was A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The Consul General’s Residence in Los Angeles was transformed into a magical paradise, with flowing fizz and flowers everywhere. Guests such as Lady Victoria Hervey, Mischa Barton and Jason Isaacs frolicked till the wee small hours , nibbling on mini fish ‘n’ chips, rhubarb crumble and McVities biscuits and posing on the crescent moon, there was even a toast to the Queen by Lord Frederick Windsor. The stuff of dreams.
